Jason Bodlovich Group
JBG is J's original electric funkrock project. This group performs as a trio with Brian Rashap-bass and James Stafford-drums. JBG can also expand to four piece and larger incorporating horns, percussion etc. Eclectic is a good word to describe JBG's sound which incorporates many styles including rock, funk, blues and more. J's influences include the bluesrock stylings of Hendrix, Santana and Jimmy Page; The funk of The Meters, Parliament/Funkadelic & James Brown; the technical prowess of instrumental rock guitarist Jeff Beck, Steve Kimock & Joe Satriani; and the harmonic risk-taking of jazz guitarists Julian Lage, Bill Frissel & John Scofield. Genre classification aside, the end result is simply exciting groove-based music capable of entertaining the masses in any venue. JBG is currently supporting 2009 debut CD "Hammerhead" and will enter the studio in 2010 to record follow up.
"Who says a jazz band can't play dance music?
Who says a rock band can't play funk?
Who says a funk band can't play rock?"
